At Simply Accessible Medicine, Dr. Stephanie McCardle partners with individuals and families of all ages to provide personal, physician-led direct primary care.
By eliminating insurance barriers, we give you the time, advocacy, and proactive health coordination required to thrive at every stage of life.
Simply Accessible Medicine operates using a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. DPC is a simple, insurance-free alternative to traditional healthcare. Instead of billing insurance companies for every visit or procedure, you pay your doctor a flat monthly membership fee directly—similar to a gym membership.
Welcome to Simply Accessible Medicine! I’m a board-certified family medicine physician with 20+ years of medical experience. While my official name is Dr. Stephanie McCardle, most people call me Dr. SAM—a beloved childhood nickname formed from my initials that perfectly matches our mission of simple, accessible care.
After 25 years in corporate medicine, I decided it was time to leave the system that now runs on rushed appointments and insurance barriers, and to return to the style of medicine I’m most passionate about: a true partnership with my patients to care for their long-term health.
That’s why I’ve started Simply Accessible Medicine here in Brownsburg, Indiana, a place my family has called home since 2013.
I look forward to welcoming you to our practice and giving you the personalized care you deserve.

After meeting Dr. McCardle, you can choose the membership that's right for you and begin your personalized primary care experience immediately.
Direct Primary Care is a modern alternative to the traditional, insurance-heavy healthcare system. Instead of billing insurance companies for every phone call, question, or quick visit, you pay a simple, transparent monthly membership fee directly to your doctor. In return, you receive highly personalized care, unhurried visits, same-day or next-day appointments, and direct communication with Dr. McCardle.
Your membership covers many standard procedures and point-of-care testing at no extra clinical cost:
In-Office Testing: Urinalysis, rapid strep, rapid flu tests, and EKGs. Think common issues that come up more routinely for you and your family.
Clinical Procedures: Simple abscess incision and drainage (I&D), cyst removals, suturing, skin biopsies, and joint injections, among others that help us uncover if we need to go deeper.
Chronic Disease Management: Intensive management of complex chronic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Kidney Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and COPD/Asthma.
Wellness Care:
To protect our patient-doctor relationship and stay focused on our primary care mission, we do not offer:
Chronic Pain Management: We do not prescribe or manage long-term chronic opioid/narcotic therapies.
Addiction Medicine: We do not provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) such as Suboxone or methadone.
Obstetrics: We do not provide prenatal or pregnancy care.
Complex Psychiatric Care: While we manage general depression and anxiety, we refer complex psychiatric conditions to trusted local specialists.
We do not bill health insurance companies directly. However, you can still use your insurance outside our office for prescriptions, imaging, specialist visits, and hospitalizations.
Yes. We welcome Medicare patients into our practice. However, Dr. McCardle has officially opted out of Medicare. This means neither the clinic nor you can submit our monthly membership fees or in-office care to Medicare for reimbursement. You will sign a one-time, standard patient contract acknowledging this arrangement.
Yes. Because we maintain our medical licensing, we can still order your blood work, X-rays, MRIs, and specialist referrals to be billed to your traditional Medicare coverage. Please note that some managed Medicare Advantage plans may restrict out-of-network physician orders. We recommend checking your specific Advantage plan details.
