Welcome to Simply Accessible Medicine! I’m a board-certified family medicine physician with 20+ years of medical experience.
While my official name is Dr. Stephanie McCardle, most people call me Dr. SAM—a beloved childhood nickname formed from my initials that perfectly matches our mission of simple, accessible care.
Medicine is in my blood. I grew up in a small town right here in Indiana, watching my father dedicatedly serve our local community as a family physician for over 30 years. He practiced medicine the old-fashioned way—with time, deep compassion, and a true personal connection to every individual.
For the last 25 years, I practiced largely within corporate medicine. While I am grateful for the deep clinical expertise I developed, the modern corporate system builds a wall of paperwork, rushed appointments, and insurance barriers between doctors and patients. I realized that to practice medicine with the same integrity and heart that my father did, I needed to change the system.
That is why I am opening Simply Accessible Medicine right here in Brownsburg, Indiana. My family and I have been an active part of this wonderful community since 2013, and it is a true privilege to bring this new model of care to my neighbors and friends.
By moving away from corporate constraints and embracing the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model, I can finally bring healthcare back to its roots. Here, you are never just a chart number. You get unhurried appointments, direct access to me when you need it, and a true partner in your long-term health.

Simply Accessible Medicine operates using a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. DPC is a simple, insurance-free alternative to traditional healthcare. Instead of billing insurance companies for every visit or procedure, you pay your doctor a flat monthly membership fee directly—similar to a gym membership.
